We flew past Mt. Rainier today. Everytime I fly out of Seattle I try and make sure I have reserved myself a window seat on the left side, particularly seat 6A.
Last time I flew out of Seattle I reserved myself this seat and was excited to pass by Mt. Rainier. I was ready, my camera was ready. When I boarded the plane I found an elderly woman in my seat, pretending to be asleep. I cleared my throat and said, "Ma'am, you're in my seat." She replied, "I prefer the window seat." I responded, "Me too." She did not budge so I sat in the seat next to her.
That flight we passed Mt. Rainier at an altitude of about 16,000 ft. So Mt. Rainier, standing at 14,400 ft., looked massive from the plane window, but I wouldn't have known about that because the elderly woman conveniently awoke in time to block the entire rows view of Mt. Rainier. I quietly thought of ways I might strangle her.
Today was different. Shayla had the window on the way to Seattle because she knows of my love for the window on the flight back. Although the sky wasn't as clear today as it was last time and I was also at a higher altitude than last time, I still got a nice view of Mt. Rainier.
